The Vincennes Tree Board is responsible for managing the planting, maintenance, and removal of street trees, defined in Vincennes ordinances as “Trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation on land laying between property lines on either side of all streets, avenues or ways within the city.”The board consists of five volunteer members serving three-year terms. The members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the City Council chambers at Vincennes City Hall, 201 Vigo Street.
The Tree Board is made up of people dedicated to beautifying Vincennes by overseeing the planting and maintenance of the city’s trees, maintaining an inventory of city trees, addressing citizens’ tree concerns, ordering removal of dangerous limbs or trees and educating the public regarding proper tree planting and care.
